WOMEN’S HOME & OVERSEAS MINISTRY OF THE AFRICAN METHODIST EPISCOPAL ZION CHURCH:  The 29th Quadrennial Convention was well attended, information distributed, a new International President elected (Mrs. Sandra B. Crowder), and a new course chartered for the next four years (2019-2023).  Theme:  Globally Committed:  “To Win The World For Christ”

 

The Temple Fitness Class:  will be held every Saturday morning from 8:00 – 9:00 led by Bro. Jonathan Foster.  Come exercise your ‘temple’ at “The Temple!”

 

Aug 11—Pastor will be preaching at Union Grove AME Zion Church for their Homecoming Service this afternoon at 4:00 pm.  We are asking the mass choir, ushers and congregation to attend this event in support of our Pastor.  Sign up in the church office to reserve your seat on the bus.

 

Aug 12 & 19—New Members Class will be held in the New Fellowship Hall at 6:00 pm.  Part 2 – August 12th; Part 3 – August 19th

 

Aug 13—The Cancer Support Group will meet in the classroom in the New Sanctuary at 6:30 pm. POC: Bro. Darryl Patrick – (910) 978-5691

 

Aug 14—The Photography Ministry will meet in Conference Room B at 6:00 pm.

 

Aug 15—The Marriage Ministry meeting will be held in the Café at 6:30 pm.  Pastor and 1st lady will be teaching on “The 5 Love Languages.”  All married couples are invited.  Food will be provided.  Please sign up in the church office.

 

Aug 18—The Youth & Young Adult Ministry will host the 2nd Annual YYA Basketball Tournament at the Westover High School Gymnasium at 2:30 pm.  The cost is $10 per player to sign up.  JV Tournament for ages 13-18 and Varsity for ages 19-40.  Tickets for admission are $5 for persons 12 & up, $3 for children 6-12 & under & free for all children 5 and under. Cash prizes and trophies awarded.

 

Aug 20—The First Responders will be meeting at 6:00 pm.  If you are interested in joining this ministry team, please attend this meeting. No medical background is necessary. Training will be provided.

 

Aug 22—Our community needs prayer! Calling all with a heart to serve. James 5:16 states, “…the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much.” God requires His children to avail themselves to those in need. If you can offer up a small portion of your day, please come out to assist us with Drive-Thru Prayer in the church parking lot during the hours of 11:00 am – 4:00 pm.

 

Aug 24 & 25—On Saturday, we will have an Impact in the Community project for Simon Temple Day beginning at 8:00 am followed by a Homecoming reception with a gospel concert.  On Sunday, the celebration will continue during both Sunday Morning Worship services. Food will be provided.
