Happy Holidays from the Women of Excellence! Please help us bless the youth in our community this Christmas by donating new toys, coats, hats, and gloves. A box will be located in the foyer of the church each Sunday and in the hallway by the church office during the week. POC: Sis. Loretta Whitehurst.
The Alliance of North Carolina Black Elected Officials has a Student Resource Guide with several internship and scholarship opportunities available for students attending or who plan to attend a historically black college or university or a minority institution of higher learning. Email the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org to have a copy of the guide emailed to you.
Attention: All Simon Temple members and friends, we provide bags of food at no cost to those who would like to receive one. You are welcome to stop by and pick up a bag from Kingdom Plaza immediately following the 8:30 and 11:00 worship services. Also, we are in need of assistance from persons who are available to help with making up the bags of food for distribution before the 8:30 and 11:00 services. Please see POC: Sis. Angela Murry of the Hospitality Ministry, if you want to serve in this capacity.
Dec 3—The Fayetteville District Organization meeting will be held at Hood Memorial AME Zion Church at 6:30 pm.
Dec 5—Children’s choir practice will be Dec. 5th, 12th, and 19th at 6:00 pm and will sing at the 11:00 service on 4thSunday, December 23rd. POC: Sis. Angela Riddick
Dec 5—Children’s Christmas Program rehearsal will be on Dec. 5th and 12th at 7:00 pm and the Christmas Program will take place in the New Fellowship Hall on Sunday, December 16th at 3:00 pm. POC: Sis. Sarah Wilson
Dec 5—A mandatory meeting for all Simon Temple Bookstore, Media Ministry and Café stewards will be held in the Old Fellowship Hall at 5:45 pm. Please be on time and prepared to begin promptly at 5:45. POC: Sis. Mary King
Dec 5—A training meeting will be held for all members of the Photography Ministry and anyone interested in joining this ministry in Conference Room B at 6:00 pm. POCs: Bro. Dennis Sutton & Bro. Ronald Bogan
Dec 6—The Simon Temple Budget Committee meeting will be held in the New Fellowship Hall at 5:30 pm followed by the Organization meeting at 6:45 pm.
Dec 6—The GaP (Grandparents as Parents) meeting will be held in Conference Room B at 6:30 pm. All grandparents are invited and welcome!
Dec 8—The YAMS (Young Adult Missionary Society) Mass meeting will be held at Lock’s Creek at 9:00 am. All members that are missionaries are asked to attend and all persons between the ages 22-40 are encouraged to come.
Dec 8—Women’s Empowerment will be held on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8TH @ 10:00 A.M. Come join the discussion on the book, “Sacred Secrets.” We are looking forward to meeting you there!! Refreshments will be served at 9:45 a.m. Points of Contact: Rev. Jennifer Blair and Rev. Paula Young
Dec 9—The 2018 MasterLife Christian Discipleship Graduation Ceremony will be held at the 11:00 am service. All participants will meet in the 2nd Classroom in the New Sanctuary at 9:15am. POC: Dr. L. Newton
Dec 15—There will be a Greeters Ministry meeting held in the New Fellowship Hall at 10:00 am. All Greeters and anyone interested in joining this ministry are asked to attend. POC: Sis. Ann Alston: (910) 689-8389
Dec 22—Simon Temple will conduct its annual Christmas Outreach Ministry in the lot next to Colvin Funeral Home at 2010 Murchison Road from 10am-2pm. This event will include preaching, feeding, clothing, random acts of kindness, a visit to a nursing home, and drive thru prayer. We need your help and giving!
