Tickets are on sale for The Free To Be Symposiumon Saturday, August 3rd!  Rev. Felica R. Thompson, FTBM radio show host, invites all to attend.  Purchase your tickets after both services in the vestibule or in the bookstore.  Tickets can also be purchased at Eventbrite.com by typing in 2019 Free to be Me Empowerment Symposium.  You still have time to advertise your business.  Forms are in the church office with details.

 

The Temple Fitness Class will be held every Saturday morning from 8:00 – 9:00 led by Bro. Jonathan Foster.  Let’s get our ‘temples’ in shape at “The Temple!”

 

Attention members:  The Simon Temple Greeters are actively recruiting those who would like to serve on their ministry team.  If you are a member in good-standing and are interested, please contact Sis. Ann Alston at (910) 689-8389.

 

July 15 & 22—New Members Orientation Class will be held in the New Fellowship Hall at 6:00 pm.  Part 2 – July 15th; Part 3 – July 22nd.

 

July 16—Baptism will be held in the New Fellowship Hall at 6:00 PM. All candidates are to meet in the Old Fellowship Hall at 5:30 PM. Bring towels and a change of clothing. Please ensure that you have filled out the church baptism form in the church office.

 

July 16—Men’s Empowerment will be held in the rear section of the Empowerment Center in Kingdom Plaza at 6:30pm.  All men are encouraged to attend.

 

July 16—A mandatory meeting for all Simon Temple Bookstore, Media Ministry and Café stewards will be held in the Old Fellowship Hall at 6:15 pm.  Please be prepared to begin promptly at 6:15.  POC: Sis. Mary King – (910) 489-2931

 

July 17—Pre-quarter reports from all ministers, ministry leaders, and class leaders are due in the church office by 6:30 pm.  Please complete your reports and turn in one copy prior to this time.

 

July 20—Our First Lady, Rev. Felica R. Thompson will be the keynote speaker for “Pursuing God’s Excellence” – Kingdom Women, Embracing Our Purpose.  This event will take place on Saturday, July 20that 9:00 am will be held at Mitchell Chapel AME Zion Church, 1085 Mitchell Chapel Road in Pittsboro, NC.  To register, go to EventBrite and type in Durham District.  KidZone will be available.  Let’s show First Lady our support!

 

July 22—The Quarterly Conference for the 3rd Quarter will be held in the New Sanctuary at 6:30 pm. All ministers, trustees, stewards, class leaders, ushers, deaconesses and department heads are required to be in attendance.

 

July 25—Grandparents as Parents will meet in Conference Room B at 6:30 pm.  POC:  Rev. Wilhelmina Rogers – (910) 964-2828

 

July 27—There will be a Singles Ministry Conference & Fellowship.  Details TBA.

 

July 31 – Lay Council meeting will be held at 5:45pm.  Voter registration for 2019 Midterm Election and the 2020 Lay Council Convocation, which will be hosted by Simon Temple, will be discussed. All active, new and interested members are invited to attend.

 

Aug 5—A Church Wide Clean-up will take place on Monday, August 5th.  Sign up in the church office to assist.  POC: Sis. Janice Lee: 910-813-4799

 

Aug 6-9—The Men of Zion Men’s Conference entitled, The Experience 2019:  “Making Men Stronger” will be held at Simon Temple.  Please visit: menofzion.org or call (301) 390-2900, for more information.

 

Aug 10—The Rev. Brian R. Thompson, Sr. Annual Charity Golf Classic will be held at Carolina Lakes Golf Course, 53 Carolina Lakes Road, Sanford, NC.  Registration will begin at 7:30 am with a shotgun start at 8:30 am.  Individual and corporate sponsors welcome.  POC: Bro. Aug 10—The Simon Temple Greeters will have a meeting with a guest speaker in the New Fellowship Hall at 10:00 am.  This ministry is actively recruiting those who would like to serve on their ministry team. If you are a member in good-standing and are interested, please contact Sis. Aug 11—Pastor will be preaching at Union Grove AME Zion Church for the Homecoming Service at 4:00 pm.  We need the mass choir, ushers and congregation to attend this event in support of our Pastor.  Sign up in the church office to reserve your seat on the bus.
