Persons will be equipped and trained to respond to natural disasters and emergencies as they arise locally or nationally.
All Simon Temple members interested in becoming First Responders, please sign up online at simontemple.securegive.com. When emergencies rise, we appreciate that you would like to help; however prior to assisting the First Responders, you must become a First Responder. During an emergency, those who are not First Responders or family members are in the way and blocking immediate assistance and airflow. Please sign up, you will be welcomed. Thank you and remember: “one responder is a drop of water, together we are an ocean.”
July 15—Pastor Thompson will be preaching at Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church on Raeford Road at 4:00 pm as we help celebrate the 2nd pastoral anniversary of their pastor, Dr. Christoppher D. Stackhaus. All Simon Temple leadership, choir members, ushers, and members are encouraged to attend and show your support of our Pastor at this service.
**July 16-18—The Simon Temple Youth & Children’s Summer Camps will be held from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. There will be spiritual, physical and academic enrichment along with lots of fun and activities for both camps including Jump Masters Trampoline Park & Carowinds for the Youth Camp and awesome activities including roller skating for the Children’s Camp! The cost for the Youth, ages 12-18 is $75.00 and $25.00 for the first 50 children, ages 5-11 to sign up. POCs: Bro. Connie McLaughlin, Dr. Delores McLaughlin or Rev. **July 21—Simon Temple will host a Community Cookout & Block Party including a Car, Truck & Bike Show from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. Let’s have an awesome time all in the name of the Lord! Hope to see you there!
**July 22—The 3rd Sunday in July will be Christian & Scripture T-Shirt Day at both the 8:30 am and 11:00 am worship services. We will also host a Kid’s Fun Day & and Ice Cream Party for our children and youth. Don’t miss this exciting and educational experience created especially the younger generation!
**July 28—The Fayetteville District Annual Blood Drive will be this Saturday at New Bethel AME Zion Church located at 6967 Amarillo Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28314 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. Please remember to eat a healthy meal and bring a photo ID.
**July 28 – The Honor’s Dinner will be held at 4:00pm. All students who made the honor roll during the 2017-2018 school year can attend. You must sign up in the church office no later than July 15, 2018 to attend.
*Aug 4—The 2018 Free To Be Me Empowerment Symposium will take place in the New Fellowship Hall on August 4th at 9:00 am. There will be speakers, vendors, and so much more. There are several sponsorship opportunities, advertising opportunities, and vendor spaces available. If you have not already done so, reserve your space now! Event packets are available in the vestibule and in the church office. Tickets are available now in the vestibule on Sundays after both services, in the Simon Temple Bookstore or on Eventbrite! Get some friends together and take advantage of a group package. There is still time for you to advertise for your business!
**Aug 18—The Rev. Brian R. Thompson, Sr. Annual Charity Golf Classic providing over $25,000 in scholarships with funds raised, will be held on Saturday, August 18th at Carolina Lakes Golf Course off Buffaloe Lake Road going up Highway 87 North toward Sanford, NC. Registration will begin at 7:30 am with a shotgun start at 8:30 am. Individual and corporate sponsors are both welcome with sponsorship levels from $100-$500 having their name(s) or company’s name on signage on a hole such as the ones pictured here. **The Women of Excellence 10-Year Commemorative Celebration will be held on September 28-29, 2018. Tickets are on sale now. Purchase them online, in the vestibule after both services or in the church office during the coming weeks.
