The Free to Be Me Empowerment Symposium 2019 has (FYI:  the word ‘sponsorships’ has been removed from this announcement) advertising and vendor opportunities for businesses still available. Advertise your business or send congratulations to First Lady in the Free To Be Me Commemorative booklet.


The Simon Temple Café is in need of assistance on Sundays with operating the cash register.  Please see Sis. Mary King in the church office.


The Simon Temple Phone Prayer Ministry needs Volunteer Prayer Counselors who will receive incoming calls to the Prayer room and pray with callers.  A three-part training will be conducted with sessions on June 18th, June 25th and July 9th at 6:30 pm.  The training will be held in Kingdom Plaza (front section) and is open to all.  Call (910) 867-1182 EXT. 5 or sign up in the Church Office.


June 18—The Leader of Leaders meeting for all class leaders will take place in the Old Fellowship Hall at 5:45 pm.  Please be on time so all class leader matters may be addressed.  POC:  Bro. Ronnie VanDyke


June 18—The Cumberland County Board of Elections will hold an educational seminar about voter photo identification requirements at 2:00 pm at the North Regional Branch Library, 855 McArthur Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28311 and at 6:00 pm at the Crown Coliseum, 1960 Coliseum Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28306.  The seminar is free and open to the public.  Beginning in 2020, a photo voter ID will be required for voting in North Carolina.


June 20—The Senior Saints Ministry will have a golf outing at Kings Grant on Thursday. The outing will include 9 holes with a shotgun start at 10:00 am.  POC: Sis. Lisa Smith


Jun 21—Join the Eastern North Carolina Episcopal District as we honor our Missionary Supervisor, Mrs. Sheila Wells Monroe at the Greenville Convention Center in Greenville, NC.  This Quadrennial Luncheon will take place on Friday, June 21st at 1:00 pm.


June 23—All graduates who are participating in Graduation Sunday please report to the Empowerment Center no later than 10:15 am on June 23rd for line-up.  Please wear your Cap & Gown. Thank you!  POC:  Dr. Vanessa Alford


June 23—The Big Anniversary of Sistas will take place at Faith Covenant Worship Center 742 East Russell Street in Fayetteville at 3:45 pm.  Sistas, Shakirah Bryant & Richelle Jones are members of Simon Temple and Bro. Winslow Ratliff, Jr. will be leading Praise & Worship for the event. Let’s show them our support.


June 24-26—Don’t forget to register for Vacation Bible School!  VBS will be held each evening from 6:00 – 8:15.  Join us as we explore Daniel’s Captivity in Babylon.  See you there!!


June 27—Bereavement Class will be held in Conference Room A at 6:30 pm.  POC:  Dr. Carol Davis-Forte

June 28—Attention All Youth, Attention all Youth ages 13 – 21. Wow, FRIDAY our firstPUSH SERVICE! You don’t want to miss this. New Fellowship Hall! 7:30 pm Sharp! Invite your friends, classmates, teammates, slide in the DM’s it’s going to be crazy! Leave your church clothes at home and everything you think you know about it. This will be an experience like no other.  See you there!


June 29—The Fayetteville District Missionary Mass Meeting will be held at New Bethel AMEZ Church located at 6967Armadillo Drive in Fayetteville at 9:00am. Asking all members to please be present for this Parent/Supply Department sponsored event.  POC:  Sis. Affie Sawyer


July 8-11—Experience Youth Conference will be held at Simon Temple during the second week of July.  Camp for children 5-12 years of age will be $35 and for those 13-21 years of age will be $65 in advance and there is a discount for families with multiple children.  Advance registration will end on June 28th.  POC:  Bro. Xavier Daniels, Youth Minister


July 20—Our First Lady, Rev. Felica R. Thompson will be the keynote speaker for “Pursuing God’s Excellence” – Kingdom Women, Embracing Our Purpose.  This event will take place on Saturday, July 20that 9:00 am will be held at Mitchell Chapel AME Zion Church, 1085 Mitchell Chapel Road in Pittsboro, NC.  To register, go to EventBrite and type in Durham District.  KidZone will be available.  Let’s show First Lady our support!


Aug 10—The Rev. Brian R. Thompson, Sr. Annual Charity Golf Classic will be held at Carolina Lakes Golf Course, 53 Carolina Lakes Road, Sanford, NC.  Registration will begin at 7:30 am with a shotgun start at 8:30 am.  Individual and corporate sponsors welcome.  POC: Bro.
