In Honor Of the 48th Wedding Anniversary of Sis. Barbara & Bro. Robert Keith!

 

In commemoration of the 146th anniversary of our church, we are asking all adult members to sow a seed of $146.  All proceeds from this contribution will go toward liquidating the mortgage.

The Temple Fitness Class will be held every Saturday morning from 8:00 – 9:00 led by Bro. Jonathan Foster.  Get your ‘temple’ in shape at “The Temple!”

The House of Refuge Prayer and Spiritual Guidance Centeropened Thursday. Call if you find yourself in need of prayer.  Please limit call to less than 5 minutes so we can assist those inside and outside the church.

 

Announcement to all Missionaries:  Life Members dues ($5.00) are due by 10/12/2019. If you have a Red or Purple stole, you have dues.  Anyone wanting to purchase a Life Members Stole, applications are in the church office.  The next stoling will be at Annual Conference on 11/08/2019.  POC:  Sis. Sep 29—The Fayetteville District Male Chorus Singing Union will be held at Simon Temple this afternoon at 4:00 pm.  Each Male Chorus on the District is asked to participate.

 

Oct 5—Simon temple Men of Zion will host a fishing trip on the Calabash Fishing Fleet at 9945 Nance Street, Calabash NC 28467.  The boat will leave at 6:15 am and the cost will be $100.00 per adult, $75 for ages 13-18 & $50 for ages 12 & under.  All equipment will be provided by the charter boat.  A bus will depart from Simon Temple at 3:30 am for those who prefer not to drive. Oct 13—In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Cancer Support Group is requesting everyone wear pink on 2nd Sunday, October 13th.

 

Oct 13—Presiding Elder’s Appreciation service for Elder Joseph C. Brown, Sr., will be here at Simon Temple in the New Fellowship Hall at 4:00 pm.

 

Oct 16—Simon Temple YYA Ministry presents a Mental Health Awareness event entitled:  “Keep Your Head Up” centered around ‘How to Identify and Deal with Depression.’ Special Guest, Lejuene Thompson will join us for this event, which will begin at 6:45 pm.

Oct 19—First Lady will be preaching at the Cape Fear Annual Conference at Saint Luke AME Zion at 709 Church Street in Wilmington at 10:00 am.  We are asking the mass choir and youth praise dancers to travel to this service.  Please sign up in the church office to reserve your seat on the bus.

 

Oct 19—The Simon Temple Greeters will have a meeting in the New Fellowship Hall at 10:00 am. This ministry is actively recruiting those who would like to serve in this capacity. POC: Sis. Ann Alston – (910) 689-8389

 

Oct 20—Pastor & First Lady’s Appreciation Service will be held during the 8:30 & 11:00 services with guest artist Kierra “KiKi” Sheard.  We want to be a blessing to them for 18 years of service.  Each member is asked to contribute $25.00.

 

Oct 25—Pastor and First Lady Thompson will both be preaching at the South Carolina Annual Conference.  First Lady will preach at the 8:00 am prayer breakfast.  The bus will be leaving at 5:00 am.  You will be served breakfast and this bus will return at 12:00 noon.  Pastor will be preaching at 7:00 pm.  The bus going to this service will leave at 3:00 pm. You will be served dinner and the bus will return back to Simon Temple by 12:00 midnight.  Let’s show our support for our Pastor and First Lady at these preaching engagements.

 

October 26—It’s that time of the year to clean out closets and garages! The Women of Excellence will be sponsoring a Community Church Yard Sale to sell those goods no longer needed for those who would like to vendor your products. Cost for a table is $25.  The proceeds collected from the sale of tables will be donated to a charity.  For those interested, a meeting will be held on October 5th from 9:30 am-10:00 am to provide information about the event and to purchase tables.  Please come and support the community for a good cause.  POC:  Sis. Nov 7—Pastor Thompson will preach at the Central N.C. Annual Conference at Rush Metropolitan in Raleigh at 7:00 pm.  Call or sign up in the church office.  Bus leaves at 4:00 pm.
