Membership Methods

You may join the church by coming forward when the invitation to Christian Discipleship is extended at the end of the worship service.

You may unite with us by any of the following methods:

• Confession of Faith – Persons who express a first time commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and/or being led of the Holy Spirit desire to unite with this local church body of believers.
• Affiliate Membership – Persons who are members of other African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Zion Churches outside the area who desire a local church home.
• Transfer Persons – Persons who transfer with full membership from another church to Simon Temple.

What ever the reason, our goal is to have you become an active and fulfilled member of Simon Temple.  Students and military members temporarily residing in Fayetteville are welcome to become part of our extended Christian family for as long as you are here.

New Member’s Class

We offer a New Member’s class in which you will learn about Church Doctrine and your role as a church member.

If you have any further questions concerning membership, please don’t hesitate to contact Reverend Thompson, one of our associate ministers, class leaders, or any member. We look forward to officially welcoming you into our church family.

If you are a member who has not attended the New Member’s Class, please call the church office at 867-1182 immediately to sign up.  Remember, you are only a probationary member until you complete your new member’s class.

All classes are independent of each other, therefore classes need not be taken in order.

Sunday classes begin at 9:30 am. There will not be a class on the 5th Sunday.

Child care will be provided.
